| dc.description.abstract | The introduction of HAART has brought about a significant reduction in the morbidityand mortality of patients with 1I1V infection. However, the mortality rate of patientstreated with HAART is stili vel)' high in resource-constrained sellings. The study hasreviewea patients' forms and ./ollow up cards of 491 patients treated with HAART inDembi Dollo Hospitalfrom 2010-2012. The minimumfollow up time was 2 month and the maximum was 36 months. Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Log-Rank test wereused to compare the survival experience of different groups of patients and proportionalhazards Cox model was used /0 explore factors a./fecting survival of patients whichdirectly linked with increased risk of mortality. The overall mean estimated survivaltime of patients was 33.8 mon/hs. Poverty is one of the most determinant factorsa./fecting survivals of patien/s in study area. Moreover, laboratory and clinical factorsare associated with increased risk of mortality. Fear of stigma is one of the barriers touptake treatment persistently. Food support program is necessary for all of patientsto have better survival experience. | en_US |
