Sepsis is defined as host immune dysregulation in response to an infection causing organ dysfunction. Globally more than 5 million deaths due to sepsis occur every year. In Ethiopia, the prevalence from one multicenter study conducted in ICUs was 26.5/ 100 ICU admissions. No studies outside the ICU and wards, such as the ED, have been conducted in Ethiopia. This study will reflect the burden of community-acquired sepsis and associated factors.
