dc.description.abstractEffective supply chain management has become a very important way to gain competitive advantage by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. This study tests the relationships between supply chain management practices, operational performance and organizational performance. It also investigates the mediating role of operational performance between SCM practice and organizational performance relationships. The data were collected from 96 employees and customers of the company The relationships proposed in the framework was tested using SPSS version 23 using both descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (linear correlation, and regressions) the research findings have shown that SCMP has a positive effect on both operational and organizational performance furthermore operational performance has also a positive significant relationship with organizational performance. This study also revealed that the operational performance of the firm mediates the SCM practice and organizational performance relationship. Therefore to achieve advancement in organizational performance in the long run the organization should give due emphasis to the constructs of SCM practice and the measures of operational performance. This paper is only on the case of Hafde tannery, and future research should consider other business organizationsen_US
