Abstract

Procurement process has been a serious issue in the country. If not well management it will be very costly to the Government as well as to the public. Procurement is the function that costs an organization a great deal of money and this has to be performed correctly in order to maximize effectiveness and minimize costs. This study will assess employees‟ perception to factors influencing good pharmaceuticals procurement practices of PFSA. The study focused on: duration that it takes, ethical practices, training of employees, record management and ICT use that might influence good procurement practice. The study was conducted through a descriptive design of research. The stud employed a census technique to select the respondents. 70 internal staff and 30 customers‟ were used who have direct contact with procurement activities. . The data was collected self administered questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS (version 20) and was presented by use of tables, graphs and percentages. The major findings of the study indicate that duration that it takes, ethical practices, training of employees, and record management and ICT use influence good procurement practice. Based on the findings the researcher recommended that the Agency management should give a proper attention to the above factors to improve the good procurement practices.
