Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to assess the role of school leaders on the quality of
education: the case of Beshale secondary preparatory school. In order to meet the objectives of
the study, a descriptive survey method was employed. The study was carried out on 108 total
populations of 48 teachers and 60 students using stratified sampling technique for this study.
Questionnaires and interview used for collecting data. Documents were also analyzed to
supplement the data. The data obtained through the questionnaires analyzed using frequency,
percentages, mean, standard deviations, used to make the analysis clear. The information
obtained through open-ended questions and the interviews were qualitatively analyzed to
supplement the quantitative data. The findings revealed that the school leaders support the
teaching learning process in the school, the school leaders, staff and students involve on
supporting the teaching learning process in a variety of activities. But the school leaders do not
give feedback and support for teachers on their work and majority of teachers are not equally
supported. As a result these had a great influence on the quality of education.
