Abstract
The current globalized world is characterize d by global production and consumption
as well as global competition. The in creased importance o f' information goods and
services in international n l trad e is also another feature of the glob al economy. lCTs
play the leading role in these globalize settings
Although it is believed that lCTs pro v id e man opportunities to developing countries,
the opp opportunities provided by such modern technologies and the globalization process
such as technology transfer, new mark et opportunity, and so o n are far being reaped
by developing countries
Ethiopia as man y of the least develop in g countries are found to be loosely
integrated In the global economy and could not benefit from the
opportunities provided by mode r n lCTs. Th e study also finds that at the
micro level the utilization of modern lCTs is very poor by business firms
engaged in intern at ion a l trade.
As a result , commiserate ended that Ethiopia ca n holds a strategic position in
t he global mark et place through the employment of lCTs in the trad sector
to penetrate e the international market easily st ill maintaining t he export of
its traditional ex port it em s. As a result, a sound ma c r o-econ o mi c policy is
needed that gives priority t o the ICTs sector.
