Abstract
Supply Chain Quality Management is essential for improving product quality and enhancing the competitiveness of manufacturing firms. This study examined the impact of SCQM practices on product quality at Anbessa Shoe Share Company. A quantitative research design was employed using data collected from 257 employees across production, quality assurance, supply chain, planning, warehouse, and sales departments. Secondary data were obtained from company quality records covering 2024–2026. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with Smart PLS 4. The findings revealed that Supplier Quality Management, Internal Logistics and Control, and Cross-Functional Coordination significantly improved product quality by reducing process and finished product defects. Process Defect Rate had a significant positive effect on Finished Product Defect Rate. Company records showed a Process Defect Rate of 11.44%, a Finished Product Defect Rate of 4.28%, a rework rate of 6.1%, and a reject rate of 1.47%. The study concludes that effective implementation of SCQM practices significantly enhances product quality. It recommends strengthening supplier quality management, internal logistics and control, cross-functional coordination, and continuous process improvement to reduce defects and improve organizational performance
