Intention to Use Dhis2 For Analyzing Data and Planning and Its Determinanat Among Health Managers in Public Health Facilities of Addis Ababa City: Application of TPB

Abstract
Background: District Health Information System 2(DHIS 2) is a web-based, integrated, open-source platform for collecting, validating, analyzing, and presenting aggregated and individual health data. While the DHIS2's analytic and visualization capabilities are constantly developing, evidence suggests that its users are not fully utilizing these new features. Their primary focus remains on data reporting, with less attention paid to data dissemination and analysis. Changing the behavior of thousands of health care employees and management is, of course, a difficult endeavor that cannot be accomplished just through technology. Therefore, this study aimed to show on which behavioral aspect we should work in order to activate utilization of DHIS 2 for data analysis and planning.
Objective: This study aims to measure the behavioral intention and to assess behavioral determinants towards DHIS2 utilization in data analysis and dissemination among health care management at Addis Ababa Public Health Facilities.
Method: A facility-based cross-sectional study involving a two-stage cluster sampling was conducted using quantitative approach. The sample units are health managers in the position of medical director, quality head, planning head, monitoring and evaluation and HIT in public health facilities found in Addis Ababa City Administration. To obtain quantitative data, I used a self-administered questionnaire that was adopted and contextualized for this study from the TPB manual and similar literatures with closed-ended questions were utilized. Collected data was organized and entered in Epi data version 4.6 and data analysis is carried out by using SPSS version
26. Descriptive statistics in the form of percentages and frequency distribution tables were used and multiple linear regression was also carried out to assess the association.
Result: The multiple linear regression analysis revealed attitude, subjective norm, training and access were statistically significant predictors; attitude (B=0.17, t(248)=2.60, p<0.05), subjective norm (B=0.55, t(248)=10.59, p<0.01), training of utilizing dhis2(B=0.37, t(248)=5.30, p<0.01) and Access to dhis2(B=0.14, t(248)=2.13, p<0.05). However, the test revealed that perceived behavioral control not to be statistically significant predictor (B=0.04, t(248)=0.66, p>0.05).
Conclusion: The behavioral determinants like attitude and subjective norm shown to significantly determine the behavioral intention of utilizing the software DHIS2 for data analysis.
