To answer this research questions the study uses survey research design and adopt the Quantitative research approach. In addition, the study used multiple data collection method, including questioners and document review. The questionnaire data were also analysed using descriptive statistics. Based on the analysis, the results show that IFRS adoption in Ethiopia would result in a number of important benefits like better quality of report, better risk management practice for management, increase cross border investment, reliability and accessibility of reports, financial statement disclosure is improved, mobility of professionals from one country to another country and intra country organization is easy and simple to a wide range of stakeholders, investors, companies and management as well. Furthermore, the main challenges in the process of implementing IFRS include significant cost of adoption of IFRS, need for training, lack of readiness to implement within the time frame set by the board, lack of adequate implementation guidance and lack of enforcement capacity are some of the key challenges facing the transition to IFRS. Finally, the thesis displayed practical implications for the government of Ethiopia and regulatory bodies in setting a firm deadline for the IFRS adoption and in following the proper application of all the adopted standards. The findings also suggest that a rigorous IFRS capacity building program should be embarked by the government, all regulatory bodies, firms and training institutions in order to provide the needed manpower for IFRS implementation.Item Assessment of Stakeholders Engagement in Biodiversity Conservation Project: In the case of MELCA Ethiopia(Addis Ababa University, 2021-06-04) Tadele, Hadis; Alemu, Dakito (Phd)Active engagement of stakeholders from the beginning and throughout the decision-making is an essential element of any successful community-based biodiversity conservation. The organization uses snowballing (through peers) and from lessons learned from past projects, with a frequency of (28, 100%) and (24, 84.7%), for stakeholder identification. Furthermore, vision and mission based (24, 85.7%) followed by proximity to conservation area (18, 64.3%) were the bases for stakeholder identification. On the other hand, MELCA Ethiopia undertakes stakeholder’s engagement throughout the project life cycle beginning from project initiation to completion. Key informants also raised conducting need assessment and prioritizing stakeholders’ needs as an important idea for project identification. Indeed, this study recommends that, all stakeholders need to be provided a training on stakeholder engagement where they can develop an understanding on the usefulness of partnership (working together). As well, the organization should devise a mechanism to track progress through proper monitoring on the engagement process and make corrective actions easily.Item A Comparative Analysis Of Performance Of Domestic And Foreign Contractors: The Case Of Ethiopian Federal Road Construction Projects(Addis Ababa University, 2021-06-06) Tsega, Betelhem; Alemu, Dakito (Phd)In Ethiopia, Infrastructure, particularly road construction, has been the most essential driver of economic growth.
