Abstract
This research evaluate the influencing factors of inland port and terminal operations performance and identifying major factors that contributed to operation underperformance of Modjo inland port operation performance. This research based on grounded theories on the past literature and employed descriptive and explanatory research design with both qualitative and quantitative approach. The 101 sample were collected using stratified and convenience sampling technique from four stratum based on their sample size through survey questioner of close and open ended question. Additionally, interview with 12 participants was conducted and quantitative data from reports collected and analyzed to validate results from primary data. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS version 26. And the study identified additional factors that is economic and political factor in addition to hinterland condition, services features, capacity, and information sharing and government policy influencing factors of dry port operation performance and recommend economic stabilization and political stability for overcoming problem of dry ports in our country in general and Modjo dry port and terminal operation performance in particular.
