| dc.description.abstract | A cross sectional study on practices of Breastfeeding has been carried out from July 11 to July 30, 1986 in Akaki Beseka. All mothers Who have children 0- 2,Months in Akaki Textile factor and house Wives who have children of t he same age group were selected randomly in order to determine; the pr evalence and duration of breastfeeding among the two groups . The result of the study indicated that prevalence of breastfeeding among factory working mothers was 77.79% and that of house wives 91. 71%. The mean duration of breast feeding among the study population was also determined .The prevalence and duration of breastfeeding were lower among factory working mothers than among housewives . The differences were significant both for the prevalence and duration of breasts feeding. The study findings will help to understand some of proolems related to breasts feeding practices and may help in determining appropriate programmes by concerned Government organization to increase prevalence and duration of breasts feeding. | en_US |
