Abstract
This study is organized on the project management practice in Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE), for industrial projects which are administered in the head office. The study seeks to
solve the lack of literature on the banks project management practice and challenges emphasizing on industrial projects. A qualitative e, descriptive approach is used for the addressing the study objectives. The study used the bank employees who are working on industrial project financing division of the bank as a primary source of data and literatures as a secondary source.
The study selected PM knowledge areas and used Likert scale to measure the practice and challenges of management practice in the bank associated with industrial project management.
The study tried to check if the practice of the selected PM knowledge area exists in the bank and the challenges. The study found that most of the participants are in familiar with the PM
knowledge area and the banks documents show that those management practices are being performed for industrial projects. The participants had shown that no t only those PM knowledge
areas are practiced in the industrial project but also the banks use the project management principles for its routine operation with the projects. The study finally recommends that what need to be done in order to effectively utilize the Project management practice effectively.
