| dc.description.abstract | Warehouse operations management is a key component of supply chain management. Thus, any inefficiency in warehouse management will greatly affect the performance of the supply chain which in turn affects the profitability of the organization. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of warehouse operation management on organization performance of Sugar Corporation. The study employed both quantitative and qualitative study approaches. Since the researcher target population was less than 100, all total target populations were involved by using census method in the study. Accordingly 70 questionnaires were distributed, from which 65 questionnaires were properly filled and returned. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of descriptive statistics of the variables showed thatmean score of the independent variables of put away operation, storage operation and inventory control operation were 2.55, 2.39, and 2.44 respectively. And the result shows warehouse operation management of the corporation hade major gaps in put away operation, storage operation and inventory control operation. Whereas receiving operation, order picking operation and shipping operation the mean score were 3.13, 2.83 and 2.66 respectively which shows almost all the respondents concerning these issues give their view on moderately. According to the survey result almost all warehouse operation in Sugar Corporation showeddissatisfied. So, the researcher recommends the sugar corporation management team must give proper attention to eliminate the bottle neck of the warehouse operation. There should be in place a guideline or standard operating procedure (SOP) in all warehouses. Indeed, which helps to give directions to the employee how each operation is going to be done step by step in the case of receiving, put away, storage, order picking, shipping, inventory control, keeping the warehouse clean etc. As the same time they strive to create a modern system and IT software to increase productivity.The corporation management team also must provide greater attention and assistance to eliminate the pitfalls of the warehouse system. | en_US |
