Abstract
Project stakeholder management is among the ten knowledge areas that a project manager must be familiar with for a successful implementation of a project work. Hence, this study is targeted to assess project stakeholder practice of Ethio Telecom by addressing the process undergone namely: Stakeholder Identification, Stakeholder Analysis, plan stakeholder management process, stakeholder Engagement and communication. This study has made use of descriptive method of research design. In the meanwhile, mixed research approach has been adopted to carry out the study. Because it was possible to obtain the information the researcher needed by using primary data and it was collected from 60 respondents which are selected using census and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS version 20.0. Then the data presented quantitatively using descriptive statistics with the help of table, frequency and percentage. Semi-structured interview was also conducted with the 5 project managers, and analyzed qualitatively by integrating secondary data obtained from TEP chart, reports, magazines and Ethio telecom booklet. Accordingly, the findings of the study reveals the company fails to organize separate functional unit for managing stakeholder relationship, conflict of interest, change of requirement, and there is lack of clear understanding on stakeholder management processes. Finally, it is recommended that all stakeholders should understand project goals and objectives, all relevant stakeholders should identify from the project planning, ensure there is a strong communication among all stakeholders and need to assign a separate organizational stakeholder management unit.
