| dc.description.abstract | Talent identification is a complex but important issue in competitive sport, especially in sports like football in which the ability to identify talent has significant commercial implications for clubs and players. However, little is known about how coaches conceptualize talent to identify athletes for successful performance. With this in mind the purpose of this research paper was to investigate the challenges of talent identification and development process in Arbaminch. Hence data were gathered through questionnaire and interview. The in formations collected from the aforementioned tools were subjected to both qualitative [using coding], and quantitatively [using tables and percentages]. The result of the analysis shows as there are various challenges such as lack of appropriate and adequate support by the concerned body, lack of competition, provision of materials and equipments were among the reasons that drag the process of talent development backward in Arbaminch.
