| dc.description.abstract | The study aimed to assess the warehouse practice of Omedad plc from the perspective of the five major warehouse practices: receiving, put away, storage, order picking and shipping. The study used descriptive research design and applied both quantitative and qualitative research approach. The target population for the purpose of the study is small in number hence, the study applied census survey. Both primary and secondary data sources were used to attain the objectives of the study. Primary data were collected through semi structured questionnaires, unstructured interview and physical observation. The reason for using these three means of data collection is to triangulate the data obtained from each sources. To analyze the collected data frequency table, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used with application of IBM SPSS statistics 23. The result of the study indicates that put away activity in the warehouse is practiced below moderate which needs more emphasis; the receiving and shipping activity are practiced to moderate extent whereas storage and order picking are practiced to moderate and greater extent. The warehouse practice of the company has a gap in storage space utilization, material handling equipments and absence of computerized warehouse management system. The researcher recommends purchasing warehouse good handling equipments for loading and unloading items, utilizing storage space properly by eliminating unusable items and applying warehouse management system. | en_US |
