dc.description.abstract | This th esis deals with Semitic words found in Tigrinya but not Ge'ez. It conta ins four ch a pte rs : cha pter one is genera l introduct ion, cha pter two meth odology, ch a pter three analysis of the data and ch a pter four is conclusion. The results s how that there a re indeed some s u ch words, inclu ding basic vocabulary, but not man y. Th is provides a lexical perspective on the question of how close Ge'ez was to proto-Ethiopic: very close, but not iden tical. | en_US |
