dc.description.abstractPerformance in humanitarian logistics can therefore be seen as the result of the strategic reconciliation of relief organizations’ enablers (resources, processes and capabilities) and the requirements of the beneficiaries. If there is unsatisfactory performance, it is assumed that relief organizations will adapt their strategies, thus dealing with the operational decision areas (allocation of resources, level of cooperation …etc.), in order to reach a strategic fit between the enablers and the requirements of the beneficiaries. Researches in humanitarian supply chain is still infant and studies made on humanitarian logistics performance for non-profit organizations operating in Ethiopia are limited. Accordingly, this study examined six factors using cross sectional study data and examined their effects through causal research design. As a result three factors were found to be correlated with the performance of humanitarian logistics such as; donor funding, information technology and adequacy of local market. Moreover, these variables were not investigated in World Vision Ethiopia context so far. So this study is the first and original in the case of the organization. Based on the findings it was recommended that World Vision Ethiopia to consider: to advance and invest on information technology to enable and ensure efficient delivery of aid services as well as goods. That will help for fast information exchange, tracking commodities and services and to control the supply line so as to increase speed of service delivery; to work on supply model strategies to attract and collaborate/be partner/ with local market suppliers specially suppliers of emergency items and establish strategies to alleviate supply challenges and to build or invest on capacity building of logistics staffs’ so as to get more experienced staffs. Finally, this study has filled two important research gaps: the empirical gap and assessment of the current situation in the effect of humanitarian logistics performance and its associated factors at World Vision Ethiopiaen_US
