| dc.description.abstract | Sälotä Petros ‘Prayer of Peter’, as we read from the text, the author is not mentioned, yet tradition says St. Peter himself. He is one among the twelve apostles of Lord Jesus. The text is found in Ge’ez language, which recently was published by Ténsa’e Zӓguba’e Printing Press, in 1992 E.C. Nevertheless, the printed text has no Amharic translation. The researcher has collected twenty seven different manuscripts and adds the printed text (totally twenty eight copies) for this study. This study is organized in the following manner. After the general introduction, the list of all twenty eight mss is presented. Then it is followed by the detailed description and linguistic analysis of the text. The fourth chapter and the main focus of this study is the critical edition of the text. It is followed by the literal translation. Due attention is given to be loyal for the Ge’ez text in translation. Both the edition and the translation are classified into sections which facilitates the reading. The final chapter contains the conclusion and the recommendations. | en_US |
