(i.e. 65 were readers and six journalists) The findi ng of the resea rch revea led that women and thcir issucs were scarcely presented in n ~lVspapcrs and magazi nes. The only topic where women had better representation was topic rdated to gcnder-bascd viol ence. In issues such as politics and eco nomy, they were almos t non- ~x i s tent. Women were fi·cqu ently portrayed as victims of gender-based violence and as economica lly dependent. They were barely represented as asscrti ve, public fi gures and as role model s. In media women are portrayed most ly performing the ir tradit ional roles. Main ly rcproducti ve roles of women were highly emphasized in newspapers and magazines. Fina ll y, the representation of women in top deci sion -making position was al so not propo rtiona l. Men he ld majority of top decision-making positions compared to women. This implies unfa ir • rep rese ntation of women in top decision-mak ing position.
