| dc.description.abstract | Talk show programs typically feature hosts who invite guests with expertise in specific topics to engage in discussions relevant to the audience's interests. This study aims to assess the audience‘s perception of talk show programs on the ―Enmekaker‖ on Ethiopian Broadcasting Service (EBS). The research employs a mixed research approach with a descriptive research design, combining both qualitative and quantitative data. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select a representative sample size of 200 audiences from Yeka and Lemikura sub-city youth associations. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires. To analyze the collected data, descriptive statistics were used to summarize the basic features of the quantitative data, besides thematic analysis was also implemented for the qualitative data. The findings of the study revealed that the audiences are predominantly young adults, with the majority of respondents falling within the 21-30 age range, and with a diverse educational background. Overall, the audience has a generally positive perception of the Enmekaker program, in addition to this, the finding shows positive audiences felling about the program but not overwhelmingly favorable perception of the "Enmekaker" program. The study also indicate that there is a need for improvement such as the time that is the program was be aired. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends the producers of the talk show program should address the audience's concerns about the program's rescheduling the program by considering the preferences and viewing habits of the audience. | |
