Abstract

Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death and has the worst prognosis among gynaecologic malignancies worldwide. In Ethiopia, ovarian cancer is the third most prevalent gynaecologic malignancy, following breast and cervical cancers. One of the key aspects of the strategic framework of the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health is to minimize the incidence and mortality of cancer as well as improve the quality of life of cancer patients. The survival rate of ovarian cancer has improved significantly with early detection and treatment. Despite extensive studies on the subject, studies on survival rate of ovarian cancer patients are still scarce
