dc.description.abstractThe quality of human resource is an asset to any organization and as a result training has become an issue that has to be faced by every organization. This study, therefore, is conducted to determine the impact of training on worker performance in public sector organizations using Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Health. The research is a case study in the form of cross sectional design in which data was collected across a population through simple random sampling. The objective of the study was to investigate the actual training practice and its effect in improving the performance of employees. The social identity theory which deals about how people think as members of groups affects the outcomes of learning interventions is the theory that the researcher has used because, social identity is a key input to or driver of learning (training) and performance in organizations. The methodologies primarily the researcher used to collect data were interview and questionnaire augmented by different literatures found in the organization. Besides, the researcher used regression and correlation tools to analyze the data. The correlation analysis result clarified that all relationship between the dependent and independent variables are positively and significantly correlated. Additionally, it was found that training has higher impact on employee performance. Key words: Training, Performance, Human Resource, Ministry of Health, Public Sector, Social Identity Theory.en_US
