Abstract
The study aimed to assess the performance monitoring and evaluation system in the case of
World Vision Ethiopia. The researcher employed both quantitative and qualitative (mixed
methods) approaches. Exploratory research designs were also used in the study. To conduct this
study, the researcher used simple random sampling technique by which a certain number of
respondents are selected at random from the population of employees working at World Vision
Ethiopia projects. In this study, only primary data was collected through structured
questionnaire and interview. Data collected through questionnaires was analyzed using
quantitative descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of IBM SPSS software version 26.
The study revealed that the Monitoring and Evaluation system in World Vision Ethiopia has
some strengths, such as having a well-developed Monitoring and Evaluation plan, adequate
budget, effective logical framework, and clear policy. However, there are also areas that require
improvement, such as disseminating Monitoring and Evaluation reports, involving stakeholders
in the Monitoring and Evaluation process, and effectively using stakeholder feedback. The study
highlights the importance of a well-developed Monitoring and Evaluation plan, adequate budget,
effective logical framework, and clear policy, as well as involving stakeholders and improving
communication and dissemination of Monitoring and Evaluation information, for a wellperforming
Monitoring and Evaluation system. The research recommends that World Vision
Ethiopia should develop a communication strategy to ensure that stakeholders are informed
about the Monitoring and Evaluation plan, logical framework, and Monitoring and Evaluation
reports. It is also recommended that World Vision Ethiopia should involve stakeholders in the
Monitoring and Evaluation process by engaging them in the design, implementation, and
evaluation of Monitoring and Evaluation activities and should use stakeholder feedback to
improve program or project performance and inform decision-making
