Abstract
The main objective of this research was to examine the factors that influence the efficiency of
import customs clearance process. Descriptive research design and mixed research approach
were followed. Stratified sampling followed by systematic sampling were used. Both
secondary and primary data were employed. 291 samples were considered for the purpose of
fulfilling the objective of this study. Survey questionnaires and interviews were used to collect
the required data. Both descriptive and inferential data analysis tools were used. The finding
showed that knowledge of the procedure and valuation are the two fundamental factors
significantly affecting the efficiency of import customs clearance process. Kality customs
branch office need to enhance the knowledge of employees by adopting different employee
development and engagement programs on different policies, procedures and guidelines
related to customs clearance processes..
