As such self administered questionnaires and key informant interviews were used to assess the situation. The result of the study indicated that more than half of the vendors' livelihoods still remain subsistent. Vendors were prohibited to construct the make-shifts shelters because of the' city's administration modernistic view of cities which highly emphasized on orderliness and cleanliness of the city. Effective participation in the selection of vending space, and other services is proposed by the author.
