Impacts of Conducting the Practical Classes in Teaching Physical Education, The Case of Uke and Lugo Secondary Schools

Abstract
The objective of the study was to assess impacts of practical classes in learning physical education and recommend possible solutions.Research design was Data wascollectedthroughquestionnaire and observation checklist. A total of 297 respondents participants the source of data. 4 Principals, 2 teachers and 291 students were involved in the study. The data collected were organized, analyzed, tabulated and interpreted using simple percentage. As far as major findings of the study are concerned, significant majority of the respondents stated their view that physical education teachers were not effective in employing practical class components such as applying practical class rules, motivating learner, organizing students for various instructional task, monitoring and providing feedback. Besides, some major problems that affect the implementation of practical class were also found. The major identified problems were in adequacy of instructional resources and facilities, lack of comfortable playground, lack of teacher’s skill to promote practical class, problem of large class size, applying class rules and student’s disciplinary problems. Finally, the last section of the study deals with recommendations that are sought to practical in solving the problems identified.
