World health organization and World Bank reported on the global burden of road traffic deaths that the number of road traffic deaths continues to rise steadily, reaching 1.35 million in 2016. Road traffic injuries are the eighth leading cause of death for all age groups. More people now die because of road traffic injuries than from HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis or diarrheal diseases. Ethiopia has a major road traffic accident. It becomes worse, and will continue to do so unless major institutional, policy, law enforcements and road designs minimum requirement reforms are established. Addis Ababa–Adama Expressway is a toll road that connects Addis Ababa to Adama. It is the first expressway in Ethiopia. Whereas Addis Ababa to Adama old corridors pass through Galan, Dukam, Bishoftu and Modjo city. The main aim of this thesis is to assess, compare, discuss, review and quantify traffic accident causes of Addis Ababa-Adama six lanes' Expressways and two-way two-lane trunks road during July 2017/2018 to June 2019/2020 GC. A secondary data were gathered from Ethiopia toll roads enterprise, cities police office and transport authority located between Addis Ababa and Adama. 2074(Two thousand seventy four) road crashes were collected from ETRE and Galan, Dukam, Bishoftu and Modgo Police station and those city transport authority, within three years.. Discrete Choice (Multinomial logit) model was used for assessing, comparing and factors contributing for road accident. In addition to this, descriptive statistics was used to conclude the nature and characteristics for all variables of traffic accidents on two corridors. The collected data were analyzed using n logit software. This study identified that; unlike other independent variables, Road Geometry, Vehicles ownership and genders are not significant at 95% confidence interval on six lanes Expressways. Whereas, Except Day of weeks are not significant at 95% confidence interval two-way two-lane trunk roads. Over speeding was the main cause of traffic accidents on six lanes expressways while on two-way two-lane trunk roads traffic accidents were mostly dominated by pedestrians' crashes. As a result, all roads' users, policy makers and road traffic regulators are expected to consider those significant determinant factors to minimize the level of accident from Addis Ababa to Adama.
