Abstract
Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is an infection of lung parenchymal that occurs in patients who are intubated for 48 hours or longer. It’s a serious healthcare-associated infection which lengthens patients stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital. It also results in higher mortality and medical costs.
