Abstract
The main objective of this study was to investigate the influence of perceived
organizational support and psychological climate on workers’ motivation in Mesfin Industrial
Engineering PLC in Mekelle city. A descriptive research design was used to conduct this
research. A sample of 281 respondents was drawn from the employees of Mesfin Industrial
Engineering PLC(MIE) using a stratified random sampling technique. A standardized structured
questionnaire was distributed to the selected respondents. The collected quantitative data were
analyzed by using both descriptive (frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, and
percentile) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation analysis, One-way ANOVA, and
multiple regression) through SPSS software version 24. The findings show that there is a positive
moderate relationship and statistically significant between psychological climate and employees’
work motivation, while there is a positive weak relationship and statistically significant among
perceived organizational support and employees’ work motivation. Psychological climate was
the strongest predictor of work motivation whereas work motivation is least impacted by
perceived organizational support. Also, the results indicated that there is no statistically
significant mean difference between the demographic variables gender, age, educational level,
and years of service in the organization with employees’ work motivation. Finally, the
researcher suggests that Mesfin Industrial Engineering plc must give some attention to
understand the perception of employees towards the organization because this helps them to
solve the problems on time and motivate their employees to achieve the desired objectives
