Abstract
The study was focused on factors that affect conflict and conflict management practice in 275 Ethiopia Electric Power Head Office. The objective of the study was to investigate the factors 276 that affect conflict and conflict management practices in Ethiopia Electric Power Head office. 277 The researcher has conducted the study through a descriptive and explanatory research design 278 and both qualitative and quantitative research approaches were applied in the study. The 279 quantitative data was collected from 240 participants through a questionnaire after the 280 respondents were selected through a simple random sampling technique. Qualitative data also 281 collected through the interview from purposively selected managers. The data collected analyzed 282 and discussed using data analyzes to like frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, 283 correlation, and regression. Regarding correlation analyzes one independent variable correlated 284 with dependent variable negatively which implies that as independent variable increases the 285 dependent variable decrease the reverse is also true. Regression analyzes also indicate that the 286 independent variable negatively impacts the dependent variable. According to the findings of the 287 study, conflict is perceived as dysfunctional in the Ethiopian Electric Power Head Office, and 288 workers are afraid of becoming victims as a result of conflicting situations. Therefore, the 289 communication way of Ethiopia Electric Power head office with an employee was poor, the 290 treatment of personal characteristics of employees were very low, the interdependence of 291 different departments in Ethiopia Electric Power head office was very low, intergroup conflict 292 predominates over interpersonal conflict, and the conflict handling technique of Ethiopia 293 Electric Power head Office managers was very low level. As a result, the overall 294 recommendations were forwarded to address the variables that obstruct the proper application 295 of organizational conflict. The study also recommended that managers of Ethiopia Electric 296 Power's Head Office discuss common issues concerning conflict management technique to 297 achieve a common understanding, management should keep their employees motivated to 298 increase productivity and by eliminating communication lag so that employees can easily 299 communicate their concerns to organization and also management should also develop a set of 300 rules and policies to ensure that any conflicts that arise within the organization are handled as 301 soon as possible.
