This research investigated the factors for variance between project design and actual implementation in World Vision Ethiopia. The study was done primarily based on the analysis of data found from respondents (primary data) and other relevant information from the organization (secondary data). Descriptive survey was used as a research strategy and a non-probability judgmental sampling as sampling technique. This method helps in avoiding repetition of sample elements, increasing the representativeness of the population and to have non-biased and accurate answers from the volunteer respondents. The main findings of this research showed that World Vision Ethiopia has visible strength in its structure, systems and procedures to successfully manage its numerous projects with a significantly large amount of resource. It also revealed that the organization has a number of internal and external factors that affected its ability to manage its projects within acceptable variance limit. Finally, it is recommended that World Vision needs to develop a staff engagement and recognition policies and procedures and there should be management support throughout the project life cycle. The outcome of this research will serve World Vision Ethiopia to evaluate itself and make improvement on its weaknesses. The research also serves other organizations as a reference tool to check their performance of project management and become a better organization in a competitive environmenten_US
