Abstract
The study focused on investigating quality of education in secondary schools in Addis Ababa
particularly in in Bole sub-city. A case study of Bole sub-city secondary schools was explored
using a sample of 365 respondents selected through simple random technique. Data were
gathered by a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods defined as triangulation. Self-
administered questionnaires for principals, teachers, and pupils and interviews for principals,
teachers and supervisor was also the instruments employed for data collection. Analysis of the
data was done using descriptive statistics. Findings were that quality of education was affected
by inadequate supporting inputs and facilities, inappropriate teaching methods and unmotivated
teachers. Finally, the researcher based on the finding recommended that strong collaboration
among stakeholders is one of important tools to insure quality of education in Bole sub city.
