| dc.description.abstract | This paper is aimed at assessing the overall efforts made with regard to prevention and elimination of worst forms of child labour in Ethiopia by analyzing the implementation process of the National plan of action. The implementation process model is used as a conceptual framework to assess the existing factors likely to contribute to the realization of the NPA objective, applying an intrinsic case study approach in qualitative research design document reviews and key informant interviews were used as data sources. The findings suggest that even though there exists a political will and actions are being taken accordingly, children in Ethiopia are still engaging in WFCL facing health related problems, exposed to physical and psychological harms some lacking legal protection. Therefore it is up to social workers and all those working for children to inform policy makers of factors influencing the implementation process and for policy makers to take remedial actions to insure that all children are protected from the practices of worst forms of child labour.
