dc.description.abstractThepurpose ofthisstudywastoassessPhysical education teachers’ self-efficacy level in teaching different physical education contents in Oromia Region Ilu Ababor Zone secondary schools. Fortheimplementationofthe study,adescriptive surveydesignwasemployed.Thesample of the studywas selectedthroughthestratified randomsampling technique. Inthisattempt,datawerecollected throughquestionnairesand observationchecklist.Consequently, the data gathered trough questionnaires were analyzed statistically using frequency, percentage, chi-square, independent samples ttest, mean, and standard deviation and qualitatively for open-ended questionnaires and observation. The result from the study revealed that there was no significant difference exists in gender, teaching experience and major areas of the study except in the level of education. In addition, both male and female physical education teachers’ perceived that they could have a moderate confidence in skill, communication, and preparationwhereas high confidence in motivation.Finally,basedonthemajorfindings, some valuablesuggestions were forwardedfor physical education teachers, school administration, policy makers, curriculum designers and teacher educators.
