| dc.description.abstract | Procurement is a multidisciplinary function that assures the identity, sourcing, access, and control of outside suppliers that an employer wants or may want to meet its strategic goals. There are a lot of health projects implementing with in the country and many health-care projects waste a lot of money on unmanaged equipment and non-strategic purchases. The aim of this study is therefore to increase the understanding of how a broad range of procurement procedures affect various aspects of project performance. The study employed a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study used Statistical Package program for Social Sciences version 20 for data analysis and interpretations. The findings of the study elaborated that, all the null hypothesis are excluded and the alternative hypothesis of all dimensions are acknowledged, which states that procurement practice elements have direct impact on project performance in Ethiopian public health institute projects. The institute are implementing contract management ineffectively and the finding of the study also revealed that contract management significantly influences project performance. The four dimensions of procurement practice are positively relate with each other and interlinked significantly with project performance. Supplier sourcing, inventory management and need assessment and contract management also needs to be improved through increasing information network with in the institute and outside, strategic partnership with suppliers, emplacing computerized system, level of collaboration and the level of support among the stakeholders. The researcher recommends further research to investigate the role of other procurement practice attributes on performance. | en_US |
