dc.description.abstractThis purpose of study was examining the to examine factors influencing Intimate Partner Violence on young women in Kara Area, Addis Ababa in the case of Plan International Ethiopia’s project service users. This study was used a cross-sectional survey design. The study employed a quantitative approach that was supplemented by qualitative data. A proportionate stratified sampling technique was used to select the participants of the study. Thus, 270 questionnaires were distributed and collected from Young women. The overall finding of the study showed that 58.4%, 61.1%, and 50.2% of young women experienced physical, emotional, and sexual violence respectively in the past 12 months. The findings of the study also identified the aggressive, alcohol, and drug use behavior of male partners, family history of violence, and religious affiliation of young women and their partners had a statistically significant strong association with Intimate Partner Violence. The Implications for social work include; practice improvement in promoting Civil Society organization (CSO) engagement on women empowerment and prevention of Intimate Partner Violence, decreasing risk factors, awareness-raising intervention, and women empowerment. It also implies policy revision to incorporate the existing situation of Intimate Partner Violence and dictate the major responsibilities of key stakeholders in the prevention of Intimate Partner Violence
