dc.description.abstract | This study investigated the nature of brain drain in the School of Social Work at Addis Ababa University. It has specifically examined the attitude and intentions of graduate and undergraduate students of School of Social Work at Addis Ababa University. The sample for the study constituted a total of 130 participants, data was collected through both quantitative and qualitative means. The results show that a significant number of participants had a high inclination and intention of pursuing emigration. The primary reason for the consideration of emigrating was found to be pursuit of education, additionally financial reasons in the form of poor pay and low career progression have also been uncovered. This study has also found that, the flight of social workers to have an adverse effect on the education delivery of social work. Furthermore, lack of awareness about the social work profession among the masses and among employers have been identified to contribute to the underdevelopment of the profession | en_US |
