dc.description.abstractBackground: Delayed first-case start in elective surgeries is a frequent occurrence in the operation theatre compared to the official start time. It has a major effect on a healthcare system with a magnitude of 24.8% to 99.3% contributed by a wide range of factors. Identifying the reasons for the delay indicates how to give solutions for delayed first-case surgeries
