Abstract

The aim of this paper was to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence on organizational performance with the mediating role of organizational culture in thecase of selected private banks in Addis Ababa. The study used quantitative research approach and Explanatory research design. Both primary and secondary data used. Primary data collected through questionnaires adopted from prior literature s. Fully filled Questionnaires from 303 employees received, the researcher empirically tested that emotional intelligence, organizational culture and organizational performance have positive and significant relationship and organizational culture has a mediating role in using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis, soble test used to see the direct and indirect effect. The result show that emotional intelligence and organizational culture have significant positive correlation , emotional intelligence and organizational performance have significant positive correlation and organizational culture and organizational performance have significantly positive correlations, Furthermore, the regression analysis shows that , emotional intelligence has direct, positive and significant effect on organizational performance with the beta value of (0.357, P<0.01) and employee engagement has significant mediating role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational performance.
