This thesis work presents the development of composite materials for rail vehicle body by using FEM by considering steel material and bamboo fiber reinforced epoxy composite materials. The Rail vehicle body of tram car model was used to develop the geometric model by Solid work R2017 modeling software. This 3D geometric model was imported to using ANSYS Workbench 15.0. The maximum operational load FEA was done after assigning displacement, load and boundary conditions. The equivalent stress and the displacement are noted and investigated to compare with the literatures revised. The result of this analysis shows that, the equivalent stress of bamboo fiber reinforced epoxy composite Rail vehicle body has the smaller value, as compared with the steel material. Based on these realities, it is recommended that bamboo fiber reinforced with epoxy composite materials are suitable for Rail vehicle body structural analysis.en_US
