dc.description.abstractThe major purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship among psychosocial risk, motivation and job satisfaction of house-to-house solid waste collectors in Gulele sub city. It specifically examines the relationships among psychosocial risk, worker motivation and job satisfaction. The study employed a quantitative research approach and Correlational research design. The questionnaires were composed of three scales that distributed to 250 random samples of house-to-house solid waste collectors in Gulele sub city, 229 participants filled the questionnaire appropriately. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean and standard deviation, Pearson product momentum correlation, multivariate analysis of variance and standard multiple regression. For data analysis, statistical package for social science (SPSS Version 20) was used. The result indicated that first, job satisfaction and psychosocial risk had strong positive relationship. Second, job satisfaction and worker motivation had strong positive relationship and lastly worker motivation and psychosocial risk factors had weak positive relationship. Likewise, job satisfaction was found to be predicted significantly by psychosocial risk and worker motivation, which accounted for 41.2% and 51.9% of variance respectively. The study revealed that most solid waste collectors are vulnerable to work related hazards and they did not followed risk prevention techniques because they did not have enough knowledge how to intervene the problem. The study recommends that Gulele sub city solid waste management office and Addis Ababa city Administration environmental protection office should be identified the risk factors and design an intervention model for prevention of targeted study population from work related hazardsen_US
