dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the contribution of DPs in the implementation of the Ethiopian education sector development programs (ESDP) with a special focus on primary education. This study employed descriptive survey method. Purposive sampling technique was used to select respondents of the study. Data gathered from the respondents were analyzed using SPSS frequency distribution table. As the results of the study revealed, DPs’ contribution was significant in implementing the primary education programs in Ethiopia. They played important roles in schools construction and furnishing with the necessary equipment’s, constructing latrine and clean water development for schools, train teachers and students, supported disadvantaged children, support budget for teachers training and girls health training, trained community to promote girls education in particular and primary education in general. Under each ESDP, DPs helped the GoE to give special attention for education sector especially for primary education and also the DPs were improved enrollment and motivated students to attend education because most schools are constructed at the nearest distance and have a better facility. And finally, it was recommended that the Ministry of Education has to closely work with development partners in the education sector to realize the universalization of primary education by supporting NGOs' effort and the government should also attempt to promote development programs that could improve the livelihood of parentsen_US
