Abstract
Improving access to family planning services and reducing unplanned pregnancies
in those with HIV is a vital tactic for preventing the transmission of the virus from mother to child.
Family planning is a well-established and cost-effective method for preventing the vertical
transmission of HIV among women living with the virus who do not wish to become pregnant.
However, there is a lack of research conducted in healthcare facilities to examine the utilization of
contraceptives and the factors influencing their use among HIV-positive women. So, this study
aims to determine the prevalence of contraceptive utilization and associated factors among HIV
positive women who has follow up at Teklehaimanot health centers in Addis Ababa
