Selection And Use of Instructional Media By Pre-Service And In-Service Elementary School Teachers: The Case of Region 13

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate whether or not there is a
substantial difference in media application habits between teachers with different
training programs. About 276 subjects were selected out of 21 sample elementary
schools in Region 13 . Data were secured throl1gh a survey method and direct
observation of actual classrooms. Statistical significance were checked through chisquare
and/or t-test at P<O.05 level. Consequently, the following major findigs were
observed.
1. Higher proportion of teacher have used the broader definition as well
as experienced the systematic application of media.
2. Substantially higher proportions of pre-service teachers have
frequently visited school pedagogical centers and have shown
favorable attirude toward media as compared to their in-service
counter parts
