dc.description.abstractThis study has examined the Effect of Organizational Culture on Employee Motivation, with a focus on the Addis Ababa City Government Plan and Development Commission. The research employed explanatory and correlation research design methods. A total of 130 questionnaires have been distributed to the employee of the commission. From the distributed questionnaire 123 were returned and data were analyzed based on the 94.6% returned questionnaire. They also used a structured questionnaire to assess the impression of the study area employee integrated with secondary data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (correlation and regression). The finding indicates that with a mean value of 3.36 and SD of 1.06, a culture of hierarchy emerged as the most dominant culture. Also, the result indicated that clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market culture had a positive relationship with employee motivation. Except for adhocracy culture, clan, hierarchy, and market culture are significant unique contributions in the prediction of employee motivation. And also from the unstandardized beta value hierarchy culture is the most dominantly influential variable to employee motivation in AACGPDC. Clan culture had no significant effect on employee motivation of AACGPDC. Based on these findings, the researcher provided recommendations for policy, practice, and future research.en_US
