Abstract

The purpose of this paper is assessing the Right to Self determination and its Constituional Adjudication: the quest of Kontoma commuinty for recognition as Ethinic group.accordingly, qualitative research design was employed for this study; since it is a particular kind of qualitative reaserach that seeks to de scribe ethinic identity of the community. Primary data,like key informant interview, minutes of decisions and appeals and proclamations are used for this study. On the other hand, FDRE and South Regional state constituions are used as secondary data source s. Furthermore, the finding of the study from both data sources indicated that challenge of House of Fderation are; lack of rules of procedre to settele constituional cases, lacks committement, prioritizing political issues, since most of them are politica l appointees, based on findis and conclusions, conclusions and recommendations were forwareded. Therefore, the House needs to clearlystipulatewhat standards of evidence ought to be used to make identity assessements on accourding to the law.
