Abstract
This study was conducted to Content Analysis Of Investigative journalism programs in Addis Media Network (AMN); The case of “Mirmera” Investigative programs. to conduct that the researcher employed a qualitative approach, in depth interview and content analysis of five sample investigative programs broadcasted from January 2019 to January 2020 in AMN were used to the data and eight sample respondents were also used to collect data for the research. To inform the study Agenda setting, social responsibility and Framing theories are used as a theoretical frame work. The AMN “Mirmera” investigative program uses major sources from producer‟s observation, the community and the organization plan itself. Investigative programs of Addis Media Network (AMN) mainly focuses on issues of corruption, construction, land grabbing, home title deeds, and human right issues. But the programs lack depth in entertaining various societal issues; like religious and politics. The finding of the study indicated that government high ranking officials including AMN managers act in unorthodox way in prohibiting some sensitive and depth investigative programs to be aired because of sources. Poor service delivery, shortage of time to conduct an in-depth investigation, lack of skilled and well-trained human power, lack of budget, unnecessary interference from higher officials, lack of logistics, organizational pressure and absence of law protection for investigative journalists are the main challenges of investigative journalism Addis Media Network (AMN).
