dc.description.abstract | This project work was conducted on Addis Ababa city roads Authority with the aim of assessing the role of stakeholders’ engagement and their impact on road construction projects in the case of AACRA. For the purpose of the study some variables were considered and analyzed which includes stakeholder engagement practice in planning, design and construction. Their engagement relevance for the economy, environment and the society were identified. The study design is comprised of descriptive and explanatory research participating about 90 personals. Both primary and secondary data were collected by using questionnaire and review of previous documents. The primary data was collect through a well-structured questionnaire which was distributed to owner (AACRA), contractor and consultant. The collected data was statistically analyzed by SPSS version 26. The results demonstrate a favorable link between the factors utilized to evaluate the functions of stakeholder engagement. Furthermore regression analysis was conducted and effects of stakeholder engagement on success of the project were determined. To understand their function in road construction projects, literature evaluations on stakeholder participation were conducted. The findings indicate majority of the variables presented for the respondents were significant and generally agreed upon by the participants. The stakeholder engagement in planning, design and construction phase was obtained satisfactory. The results of regression analysis indicate the factors have a positive impact on the success of road project. Generally, the stakeholder collaboration currently in place is encouraging but it needs further improvement and this can be enhanced through setting up different mechanisms as recommended in the paper. This demonstrates that the stakeholders' engagement in road construction is now proceeding well and is well received. The author suggests establishing a well-structured frame work for engaging stakeholders, enhancing the current communication channels and documenting the current practice for future usage as a steppingstone helps for better result and satisfaction in road projects | |
