| dc.description.abstract | The pnmary objective of this thesis is to analyze the known Ga'az versions of Giidlii Maraqos, which are li t~rary products related to the venerable St. Mark, the -Evangelist. In this thesis, particula r attention paid to at least the two different versions of Giidlii Maraqos. The study attempts to identify and analyze the manuscripts of Giidlii Maraqos, and sketches comparison between them by contents including antrophonyms and toponyms, which have value and sort for language, literature and history. The study also composes the synopsls of the life of St. Mark, the Evangelist. Based on the two Ga'az versio,ns and other references, the study divided the evi<;lences into episodes' (the .. name, 'his parents, preaching, Acts or martyrdom etc). Fina lly, the thesis endeavors to describe the establishment of an ecclesiastical hierarchy of the See of St. Mark and to analyze some historical, cultural, theological, liturgical and hagiographical relations of Egypt and Ethiopia. | en_US |
